Post hardcore band PLEDGE premiere another new track, listen to “Sudden Urge”

2 mins read

Soon after our recent discovery of the amazing emotional post hardcore, screamy band PLEDGE, the band is back with yet another new single called Sudden Urge, coming from their new album “Haunted Visions”, to be released on May 28th!

We asked the band to share their thoughts on the single.

𝑇ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑙𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑏𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔.

“It talks about the capitalist mentality that has enslaved human race, and the feeling of being absorbed by it: how it makes us waste our time, our health, and the planet resources.” – explains the band. “How humanity became to be a predatory race above all the other sentient beings. Is about feeling detached from reality in a sense that you cannot grasp it as it is, as it doesn’t make any sense. It was inspired by the concept of Wetiko, which is a mind-virus concept taken from the Native American culture.”

“For now, as an introduction to ‘Haunted Visions‘, I must say that whether you’re a punk fan, a post/hardcore fan, an indie or a pop fan, I believe this album will hit you way beyond what your idea of genre has prepared you for, so get ready and leave all your preconceptions in the closest ‘shitter’.”

Asked about their plans for the future, the band continues: “Right now we are working on two different fronts. One is the promotion of ‘Haunted Visions‘, we cannot wait for people all around the world to listen to it and we are very proud of what we achieved sonically, as I stated before. The second front is the pre-production and writing process of our next album.”

“Since we had this much time caused by Coronavirus we decided not to stand still and kept working on new ideas, the riffs kept coming and, to me, that is the biggest sign of a healthy band environment. If the music keeps coming and we all feel inspired like we do, despite the difficulties, that means we are here to stay and you better believe that. In my opinion, the next record is going to be bigger and better than the previous and we are already planning it in advance. As I said before, we as a band try to be always raising the bar in terms of our individual and technical abilities and also trying make better records, consolidating what has been done in the past. So, it is just inevitable that the next record is going to be the continuation of what ‘Haunted Visions‘ has achieved, always learning, always trying to make our message come across in a more intense and meaningful way. So, get ready fellows!”
