Roadburn Festival has revealed 29 additional acts for its 2025 edition, further cementing its reputation as a premier destination for cutting-edge heavy music.
Returning favorites like Thou, Oranssi Pazuzu, and Messa will join first-time performers such as Envy, Tristwych Y Fenywod, and Curses. The festival, which will take place in Tilburg, Netherlands, from April 17–20, 2025, also boasts Steve Von Till and Midwife as artists in residence, each delivering multiple performances.
Roadburn’s artistic director Walter Hoeijmakers highlighted the festival’s boundary-pushing ethos, stating: “This announcement shows the broad scope of heaviness at Roadburn 2025. There are artistic, musical, and emotional boundaries being pushed, and we are hosting both up-and-coming acts making their festival debuts alongside longstanding luminaries. We are looking to the future, to our roots, and in all directions in the present to find those defying the perceived limits of genre in the underground. We know there are no limits.”
Envy: Making their Roadburn debut with two performances—one featuring A Dead Sinking Story in full and another spotlighting their modern material.
Thou: Performing their latest album, Umbilical, on the main stage.
Oranssi Pazuzu: Presenting a special live rendition of their newest release, Muuntautuja.
Midwife: Returning as an artist in residence, performing three unique sets, including a collaboration with Vyva Melinkolya and a commissioned performance of No Depression in Heaven.
Steve Von Till: Celebrated as an artist in residence, with two full sets and a collaborative audio-visual exhibition with artist Thomas Hooper.
This year’s lineup emphasizes diversity and experimentation, featuring acts spanning black metal, post-punk, dreamgaze, and beyond.
The new additions join previously announced acts such as Chat Pile, ØXN, Sumac, Altin Gün, and Kylesa. Tickets and accommodation options for Roadburn 2025 are now available. For more information, visit roadburn.com.
