Known from previous projects such as Archivist, Knife Eyes and Mahlstrom, Stuttgart-based blackened, shoegazin’ metallic screamo / post metal band NESSEL seem to master the wider range of various dark and heavy styles and subgenres and their newest offering “Gestalt“, is a fine example of that. Coming as their most profound, complex, and revelatory release yet, the album explored various contrary soundscapes and allows for an absolutely enthralling listen. Today we’re giving it the first exclusive listen, ahead of the official premiere tomorrow via I.Corrupt.Records (Cologne, Germany), Through Love Records (Hamburg, Germany), Fireflies Fall (Bordeaux, France) and Clever Eagle Records (Minnesota, USA). A limited edition slipcase tape will be also released via Hamburg’s Natural Resources.
The album starts with a flight forward, gets lost in the abysses and problems of the individual protagonists and outlines a man-made dystopia, alternating between crystal clear and gloomy passages. From sprawling shoegaze soundscapes to black metal borrowings.
Gestalt was recorded during last year’s endless limbo and produced by Steve Frenzel in Nuremberg.
