After our premiere of LONG ARMS’ song “Past Due” earlier this year, the gritty rock band bring you another song titled “Inside Out”. The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Young Life, which is scheduled to be released next month via Dead Serious Recordings. Listen to both new track below.
Years before playing raw-throated rock & roll with Long Arms, James Menefee (River City High, Higley) cut his teeth as a punk rocker, forming his first band at 12 years old and touring across America while still a teenager. Those were whirlwind years, filled with the highs and lows of a life spent on the road. He played shows with his heroes. He appeared on MTV. He slept on floors, signed with a major label, and wrote songs that told the whole story. Years later, that story continues with Young Life, the third album by Long Arms. James formed the band in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, eventually cementing a four-piece lineup around lead guitarist Phil Heesen III, drummer Greg Butler, and bassist Alex Smith. Together, the musicians whipped up a sound rooted in electric guitars and vocal hooks – a sound built for open highways, car dashboards, and barroom stages. Young Life is the sharpest version of that sound, delivering a batch of songs trapped halfway bewteen the rule-breaking spirit of James’ teenage punk days and the epic sweep of electric rock & roll.
Frontman Jim Lindberg has confirmed that PENNYWISE will release a new record in 2018. The outing will mark a follow up to the band’s 2014 record Yesterdays, released on Epitaph. Listen to the podcast below and go here to see their current live dates.

The record comes out exactly one year since their 2nd full length release ‘Little Giants’ and they show no sign of coming down. Great record – hear it below!
“The songs on Buffalo Buffalo give a quick glimpse of where we’ve been for the past few years — falling in love while it feels like the world’s imploding, getting too old to be young dudes in a band, and trying real hard to stay positive. They’re also a glimpse of what’s to come, and we hope people love them as much as we do.”
Budapest, Hungary’s shoegazin’ avant-pop indie rockers BERRILOOM AND THE DOOM release new video for their song Illness Is Anger, serving a tasty slice of modern nostalgia. The new single closes the gap of the band’s silence since the early 2016 record “Discontinuous Man“, recorded as a one man project.
BERRILOOM AND THE DOOM is a band from Budapest, Hungary, that incorporates many styles of shoegaze, emo, noise rock and indie. The band consists of Ákos Déri (vocals, guitar), Gábor Kővári (vocals, bass) and Gábor Kovács (vocals, drums). Formerly as a solo project Ákos has released a few EP-s and LP-s before. The last one called ‘Discontinuous Man’ released in 2016. The band are now working on their first material.

Metallic hardcore pioneers INTEGRITY has released a guitar playthrough video for the song “Burning Beneath the Devil’s Cross” from their latest album, Howling, For The Nightmare Shall Consume.
Punknews.org has premiered HODERA‘s stellar and emotionally moving new song Four White Walls from their second LP “First Things First” which drops October 20th. The band is hitting the road this fall in support of the album (see the dates HERE). FFO: Pinegrove, Modern Baseball, Hotelier.
Spearheaded by Matthew Smith, Hodera has persisted in forming a unique sound amidst the vast depths of successful New Jersey acts. The group’s first release, 2014’s Reset To Default, was only a glimpse at the songwriting talent possessed by Smith. With 2015’s United By Birdcalls the name Hodera name was put on the map, touring extensively both in the United States and the United Kingdom. From landing showcases at SXSW and set times at The Fest, the honest nature of the songs found the band at the top of Spotify Viral Charts. Hodera will now release First Things First via Take This To Heart Records on October 20th.
First Things First is an explorative album, diving into difficult subjects such as depression, suicide, loss and love. Hodera have weaved a web of progress through their constant work ethic, bettering their songwriting and pushing the boundaries of their delicate dynamics. First Things First is candid with its emotions, unraveling a soundscape that provides listeners with an album full of memory and warmth.
“I like to keep the storyline in each song raw, so it’s not just a general pop song, or anyone else’s memory. It’s my story that I’m telling and letting people connect with,” Smith comments about First Things First. Being transparent is more than an act for Hodera, it’s embedded into the very soul of the music, and that’s what makes their music feel personal.
Through First Things First’s dynamic ten tracks, we are brought on a journey with Hodera, as Matthew poetically narrates each story. We join them in the confusion and frustration of growing up and trying to find where we belong; the grief of losing friends, family and potential loves; the dark corners depression can lead to, and the measures someone will go to just for a glimpse at happiness’ light again. Ultimately though, it leads us to the realization that no one is alone in the human experience and we can all strive to get better. So, first things first, go give this album a listen.
“I wrote this song during a depressive downward spiral that landed me in the hospital. Of all the waves of depression I’ve experienced over the last decade, this was the lowest I had ever gotten and the closest to death. I was fucked up on red wine and cough syrup at 2am and started writing this song in my bed, which is in a little nook of the basement, surrounded by four white walls. We finished the song and recorded it after my last hospitalization, so the ‘white walls’ are also partly referring to the hospital walls, or really just the feeling of being trapped, stuck in a hopeless rut.” – Matthew Smith (Singer/Guitarist)

Check it out below and please donate generously, as all proceeds from the sale of this album will go towards funding a proper studio recording this winter 2017-2018. Michigan post black metal / blackened crust act DAKHMA are streaming their split with French grindy, powerviolent, nihilistic chaotic chardcore/metal act PILORI. Listen below and grab your copy via Dingleberry Records, Terrain Vague, Red Truth Records, Eastrain Recs, Skatepizza Records, or WOOAAARRGH. The 3-track offering exhibits admirable growth and delivers a glomy soundtrack just in time to become the defining sound of these cruel modern days.
DAKHMA commented on the PILORI‘s side:
It’s a fucking must for these dark and gloomy days as everything dies around us pilori will drag you deeper keeping your blood hot.
LA melodic hardcore act A SHARK AMONG US are streaming their new EP ‘Dolor’.
Melodic hardcore act LIFELINK have shared a new music video for their latest single “Unhealed”, taken from their brand new ‘Love Lost’ EP, presented through this recent interview on IDIOTEQ.
King Pizza Records and Twin Earth Records have dropped a new split by garage sludgy rockers MAD DOCTORS and noisy psych rockers HEAVY TRAFFIC. Listen below and head over here for a proper review.
On the proverbial A-side, Brooklyn’s Heavy Traffic comes off strong with “Daylight Ripoff” which is, at first listen, a wall off feedback-drenched noise. There are overarching elements of doom metal, with psych rock guitar riffs worked in before the end of the track falls apart into chaos. Only through this single glimpse at the band, it seems clear that “epic” is a goal, although it’s hard to see if they really have the chops. You’ll want to dig deeper, for certain.
Flip this over and you’ve got The Mad Doctors, also from New York, whose penchant for voluminous noise seems similar, except they are punk and surf influenced. Their three-minute burst of energy, “Yuengling Malmsteen” is pretty accessible and it’s easy to see what the band is going for with it, fun loving and cheeky, although with a portmanteau of lager beer and legendary guitars in your title, I’m inclined to want to better understand Doctor Seth’s vocals. Alas, I don’t, but that doesn’t rob it’s thunder; perhaps a delve into their April release No Waves, Just Sharks is in order. / New Noise Magazine
Shoegazin’ alt rockers / ex melodic hardcore / metalcore act HUNDREDTH have shared a music video for “Shy Vein,” a track from the band’s latest album RARE, out now on Hopeless Records!
Greensboro, NC’s favorite instrumental duo THE BRONZED CHORUS return with Yearling, the follow-up to last year’s explosive Summering LP. The band’s brand new 7″ is due out October 27th via Gigantic Noise Records. The band, Hunter Allen (drums, keys) and Adam Joyce (guitars, keys), create a really unique blend of post-rock, math rock, psych, and looping experimental pop that’s full of emotion, continuously changing shape and mood. Like time and space distorted, The Bronzed Chorus’ latest single “I Am The Ram” is both tranquil and chaotic, warping between polar sides of the spectrum with grace and a bit of electronic manipulation.

With the release of ALL PIGS MUST DIE‘s impending Hostage Animal nearing through Southern Lord late this month, the band is now hosting a premiere of the album’s title track, alongside an exclusive playlist feature on some of the albums which helped influence the record.
ALL PIGS MUST DIE comes crushing forth with their follow-up to 2013’s lauded Nothing Violates This Nature, with the by-the-throat rampage of Hostage Animal, delivering ten new tracks which distill aggressive music to its purest tenets. The lineup has expanded to a quintet since prior records, with guitarist Brian Izzi (Trap Them) joining vocalist Kevin Baker (The Hope Conspiracy), drummer Ben Koller (Converge), bassist Matt Woods (Bloodhorse), and guitarist Adam Wentworth (Bloodhorse). Featuring some of the most well-seasoned musicians in the scene, Hostage Animal showcases the band’s most dynamic songwriting thus far, while retaining every bit of contempt and aggression fans have learned to expect from ALL PIGS MUST DIE.
ALL PIGS MUST DIE unleashed their first full-length in 2011 with God Is War, the thirty-minute rip a nod to primeval disdain and anger. Exploring facets of human conflict one track at a time, God Is War introduced the world to a whole new spectrum of rage. In 2013, APMD upped the ante with Nothing Violates This Nature; having honed their craft with more speed and filth, the band pushed their sound closer to the edge. Now, in 2017, the band is preparing to issue Hostage Animal which, like its predecessors, was recorded at Kurt Ballou’s GodCity Studio, but that is where the similarities end; Hostage Animal ushers in ten new songs that pulverize, gnash, and whirl with the band’s most punishing delivery yet. Hostage Animal showcases that ALL PIGS MUST DIE is far more than the sum of their parts, and their fusion of crust punk, hardcore, and metal is more ferocious than ever before.
ALL PIGS MUST DIE Tour Dates:
10/19/2017 Saint Vitus Bar – Brooklyn, NY
10/20/2017 Great Scott – Boston, MA
10/21/2017 AS220 – Providence, RI
ANTI-FLAG has released a lyric video for the album track “The Criminals”, teasing the band’s new record American Fall, available November 3rd.
“The politics of distraction influences people to lose focus on what makes a positive impact on their lives and the world,” the band said about the new album. “It encourages people to make choices that are not in their best interest and reduces society’s ability to make progressive change. The ‘American Fall’ is our rejection of this harmful distraction. At this crucial moment in history, we must focus on pushing past the status quo to create a better and more just world. We reject the proliferation of exploitation, racism, bigotry, and socioeconomic injustice that dominate the policies of Donald Trump, just as we renounce the neoliberal status quo that came before him.”
Melodic hardcore pack STICK TO YOUR GUNS are streaming new record “True View” on Pure Noise Records.
“This entire record was inspired by conversations I had with my mother over the last two and a half years. She gave me the compass to be able to navigate this painful path.”
“Kitchen” is the first aural glimpse into the Vespertine project, a collaborative concept wherein the entirety of Chef Jordan Kahn’s new Culver City restaurant has been custom-scored by Los Angeles’ own post rock giants THIS WILL DESTROY YOU. Hear “Kitchen” below. The track can subsequently be experienced via all digital and streaming platforms worldwide Friday, October 13th, 2017. Preorder the track via Magic Bullet Records.
One of seven pieces written for the building itself (and even the space around it), “Kitchen” is the music that diners first hear as they are greeted by Chef Kahn before dinner service begins for the evening. In composing the music for this interaction, THIS WILL DESTROY YOU’s Chris King and Jeremy Galindo sought to convey a warm, hospitable – if not reassuring – tone for listeners that may (or may not) be present elsewhere as they discover and explore the spaces in and around Vespertine’s looming architectural monolith for the remainder of their stay.
In related news, THIS WILL DESTROY YOU will join fellow post-rockers Sannhet for a short run of live dates next month including a BrooklynVegan-presented show on November 14th at Knitting Factory, as part of the historic New York City venue’s 30th anniversary celebration. See all confirmed dates below.

Take a listen to “Evansville”, the first song from WITHERED BONES‘ forthcoming album, In Search Of Self-Evidence. The band stepped back and looked within themselves in an attempt to evoke genuine change. They are returning later this year with their new album, In Search Of Self-Evidence. The effort is filled with anxiety and discontentment, but those aggressive emotions aren’t without purpose. Taking notes from 2013’s wave of melodic hardcore, the band addresses a multitude of unpopular topics head-on, including issues within the church, social discontentment, and self-discovery. Set for release on December 8, 2017 via Blood & Ink Records, In Search of Self-Evidence is a journey to find answers for questions many of us don’t want to ask. Will you be listening?
Jesse Cash from the Sumerian Records band ERRA has a new band called GHOST ATLAS and they are about to unveil their debut record on November 17th. The band just released a music video for the melodic and sultry single “Legs”. The album is called All is in sync and there’s nothing left to sing about and will be released 100% independently. It showcases a protective spirit towards the integrity of the music and general creative direction, as well as a more personal feeling of getting your music directly from the musician.
Cash says “Erra is a metal band, I’ve always enjoyed playing and writing that stuff, but Ghost Atlas is more of a reflection of what I personally enjoy, what I listen to most and what influenced my songwriting late in high school.”
The primary objective of “Legs” is to set a provocative tone. “It has a dark, uncomfortable, yet sexy vibe to it,” says Cash. “It’s like the sound of sadomasochism and hopefully invokes a mood in the listener that is similar to the feeling I get from listening to a song like ‘You’ve Seen the Butcher’.”
Archy Marshall’s KING KRULE, a bizarre mixture of avant-rock, hip hop, trip hop, and jazz, is streaming their new record The Ooz, out now via True Panther Sounds (US) and XL Recordings (UK)! Listen below and check out 3 music videos, HERE, HERE, and HERE!
Victoria, British Columbia’s raw, spooky emoviolence / screamo act SLOW RELEASE have released a new DIY release called ‘Slow Release’…
After a 12″ on Neck Chop and a 7″ on Iron Lung, Santa Rosa noisy punks ACRYLICS are back with two incredible, discordant blasts, this is the sound of your mind being ripped out. If you are looking for contemporaries, I’m not sure there are any at the moment. Acrylics are pushing the boundaries with each release. Highly recommended. The record is available Octber 20th on Iron Lung and Drunken Sailor in Europe.
“Structure” is a bit more on the pogo side complimented nicely with sharp echo stabs and a ruinous atmosphere. “Gluttony” brings us back to that toss-and-turn-in-a-dark-alley kind of crunchy freak junk that the teens mangle themselves to. Our favorite blend of ugly and appealing.

Following the signing of North American hardcore group SECT to Southern Lord earlier this year, the band has since completed recording their second full-length, and label debut, No Cure For Death, and with plans to release the album on November 24th. No Cure For Death was recorded with Kurt Ballou at GodCity Studios and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. View brand new footage of SECT’s No Cure For Death recording sessions below.
Comprised of an international cast of scene veterans, who cut their teeth in that formative moment of political, cynical, antagonistic extremes, SECT unites vocalist Chris Colohan (Cursed, Burning Love, Left For Dead), guitarists James Chang (Catharsis, Undying) and Scott Crouse (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance), bassist Steve Hart (Day Of Suffering), and drummer Andy Hurley (Racetraitor, Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things). The result of these musicians’ alignment is a caustic, riotous, belligerent style of vile hardcore fed by a boundless well of socio-political vitriol.
SECT gets right down to the blast beats and breakdowns that fight it out in their chaotic jams. They cut the shit and go for the throat with no time to waste, “because the Orwellian police states and irreparable social and ecological disasters we once saw off on the horizon are now on our front doorsteps, in full swing. And in just such a volatile, precarious moment as this for civilization, there is more reason than ever to keep lashing out at a world more suicidally-bent on its own destruction and the exploitation of people, species and the ecosystem itself, than perhaps ever before in history.”
SECT took part in Not Dead Yet Fest this past weekend in Toronto, playing Saturday, October 14th alongside Incendiary, Glory, Hotheads, Spiritual Cramp, Illusion, and Real World. The next day they headlined a show in Buffalo with Acolyte, Old Ghosts, and Juggernaut. Additional tour dates are to be expected.

Following the release of their second album which saw them tipped for a Mercury Prize nomination by The Guardian, Sheffield experimental instrumental outfit KING CAPISCE are extremely pleased to reveal a brand new video for the latest single ‘Taming Panda’. The track is the latest to be taken from their long-awaited third album Memento Mori which is out now via Lamplight Social Records, the label owned by James Mainwaring of Mercury Nominated and MOBO prize winners Roller Trio. In a bid to showcase their boundary-pushing new material in a unique setting, King Capisce recently played a special pre-release party in Sheffield at the beautiful Abbeydale Picture House, where restoration work recently began on the old cinema building.
“We took on the engineering and production of the album as a band, and I mixed the album myself” says guitarist Tim Feben of their new material “It was great to have access to a hall of fame collection of gear and we really went to town to try and get as much character as possible on the record.
“The pressures of being in a new studio and the time and money involved have often been a real hindrance to the creative process, so we decided to record as much raw playing as possible in the time we had and then constructed it off site.
“A lot of the extra sounds and textures, which we’ve really tried to develop for this record, came after those initial sessions, and have resulted in a much deeper, fuller sound, which we’re really excited about.”
SINGLE MOTHERS have released3 videos from their recent live session performance at Little Elephant studios in Toldeo, OH. All 3 tracks ‘Leash’, ‘Undercover’ and ‘Long Distance’, come from their second album ‘Our Pleasure’, which was released in June via Big Scary Monsters (UK/EU) and Dine Alone Records (NA).

Cult UK doom/sludge outfit IRON MONKEY has shared the official visualizer video for “Crown Of Electrodes,” the opening track off 9-13, their first new full-length in almost two decades. 9-13 is set for release on October 20th on CD, LP, and digital formats via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital orders are available via Relapse.com and all retail outlets.
After disbanding in 1999, IRON MONKEY has reformed for phase two of their mission. Recorded in their hometown of Nottingham in Spring 2017 A.D. with producer Johnny A. Carter, 9-13 is nine songs and forty-eight minutes of total nihilism. Now older, more cynical, and more isolationist, IRON MONKEY are back to usurp the scene, then crush it’s skull. Without question, their most focused, aggressive and direct material to date, 9-13 is an all-out assault of violent hatred and nightmarish negativity. Recommended listening for fans of pain, suffering, and misanthropy.
IRON MONKEY was beaten to life in the year of your Lord, one thousand nine hundred and ninety-four, at the location of Nottingham, England. The original members were named: J.P.. Morrow, J. Rushby, S. Watson, D. Dalziel, and J. Greaves. Influences were primarily Eyehategod, Buzzov*en, Floor, Grief, and various hardcore punks and heavy metals.
IRON MONKEY shit out six disgusting tracks of raw sludge-core that were released on the Union Mill label then later on Earache Records. During this period, S. Watson was thrown out and replaced by God’s lonely man, Dean Berry. Nineteen ninety-eight saw the release of the album Our Problem, also on Earache Records, a masterpiece of negative rock that instigated peace on earth and goodwill to all men. This was succeeded by a split release on Man’s Ruin Records with Church Of Misery from Japan. J. Rushby soon abdicated and the band found a replacement in the manner of S. O’hara of Acrimony. IRON MONKEY was destroyed sometime in nineteen ninety-nine. Vocal terror J. P. Morrow died of a heart attack in June of two thousand and two. Rest in noise.
The band reformed for no reason in the winter of two thousand sixteen with original members J. Rushby and S. Watson, with the addition of current Chaos UK drummer Brigga, forming the shape of an inverted black triangle of vitriol and phase two of operations. IRON MONKEY do not care about your scene, bands, or opinions… ELECTROCUTION, DOOM, OMEGA OMEGA OMEGA. – J. Rushby, Two Thousand Seventeen

Indie rock act THE FRONT BOTTOMS have shared an official music video for “Peace Sign,” which is featured on their new LP, GOING GREY. Directed by Nathan R. Smith, the “Peace Sign” official video is streaming below.
Produced by The Front Bottoms and Nick Furlong at studios in London, Texas, California, New Jersey, and Connecticut, GOING GREY arrives today at all DSPs, www.thefrontbottoms.com, and music retailers nationwide. GOING GREY is highlighted by the lead tracks “Vacation Town” and “Raining,” which arrived earlier this year to critical acclaim. NPR hailed the new music as “…brutally honest, witty and confessional…” adding, “The group’s heart and humor shine…” while The FADER remarked, “The Front Bottoms make memorable sing-a-longs that call back to a different, simpler, sadder era of confessional guitar music.” Stereogum praised “Raining” as, “grand and reflective and damn near arena-ready,” with A.V. Club declaring, “The Front Bottoms are more confident, and secure enough to confess to all they don’t yet know. It’s a privilege to listen in as they work it out.”
The New Jersey-based band is set to begin a U.S. headline tour with special guests Basement and Bad Bad Hats. The coast-to-coast trek is set to commence Thursday, October 19th at Boston, MA’s House of Blues and then continue into November (see attached itinerary). Tickets for the tour are on sale now with all tickets purchased online receiving an instant download of GOING GREY. Furthermore, The Front Bottoms will be celebrating the release of GOING GREY with a series of instore performances beginning tonight, October 13th at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, New Jersey followed by a performance at Rough Trade in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, October 14th. Swedish post punks MAKTHAVERSKAN are streaming their third full-length, titled Ill, today on Bandcamp, in advance of the album’s October 20th release on Run For Cover Records / Luxury Records. Physical pre-order for Ill is now available, and the album is available for $5 via Bandcamp until October 20th. Stay tuned for future US tour plans!
Deep at the heart of Makthaverskan’s new album Ill lies a burning desire, a longing to find compassion against a global backdrop where love in all its forms feels as if its being sucked from our lives. Led by vocalist Maja Milner’s barbed wail, Ill is Makthaverskan turning their sights on the world at large, chasing hope and understanding in a time when it can seem impossible to find either.
Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, the post punk five-piece roused a worldwide following with the single “No Mercy” and the release of their sophomore album II via Boston’s Run For Cover and Sweden’s Luxury Records. The failure of love and loss of innocence that punctuated II and No Mercy’s searing condemnation of “fuck you for fucking me when I was seventeen” however no longer dominate Milner’s worldview on Ill. Here, each new day is a cyclical curse for Milner as she sings on “Leda,” “I wake up feeling worse every day.”
Makthaverskan’s III represents the band’s most focused songwriting, patiently recorded over the last three years as a leaner four-piece with producer Hans Olsson Brookes. Where past records were collections of scattered songs, IIIconveys an intentional cohesion. At the core is Milner’s austere purview. She turns her feminine powers against society, rather than the wreckage of her past, yet still exploring themes of what can and cannot be controlled. “In My Dreams,” takes the perspective of dreams as an opportunity to play out the grand possibilities of love, knowing that once she’s awake they’re out of her hands.
Despite this, Makthaverskan are far from defeated. On “Eden”, Milner struggles to find her place in a society increasingly divided by hatred (“humanity equals misery / there’s nothing here to see / Is this what we want, or is it all we know?”). On “Comfort” she finds trust in a stranger – refusing to give up hope. In fact, Makthaverskan is a band built to overcome. Even when Milner’s lyrics suggest the bleak – raw, unbridled energy pulsates through III. “Witness” showcases the rhythm section on overdrive with an intensity that carries over into the erratic pace of “Eden” and “Front.” For all the disillusionment that Milner dishes out, behind her is a monolithic sound that broods in unison yet shimmers with hope.
With the band navigating through their mid-to-late twenties, closer “Days Turn Into Years” encapsulates the biological shift in how time is felt and internalized. The band subdues its lilting chords ever-so slightly and Milner slips into a lower register for the refrain. This is Makthaverskan settling in, but not relinquishing to complacency.
Melodic pop-punk upstarts COMMON GROUNDS have premiered a brand new video for contagious single ‘F*ck Growing Up’. ‘F*ck Growing Up’ shows the band at their catchy, nostalgic and relatable best, with the track taken from the California quartet’s latest EP “No Sleep”.
F*ck Growing Up’ is an uplifting, high energy track with a memorable hooky melody which will stick in your head for days. The track is full of youthful exuberance with a fast tempo throughout, dropping into half-time in the chorus with awesome impact; a track to make the crowd get off their feet if there ever was one.
The LA rockers released debut single, ‘Something Greater’ in June 2016 and have made a name for themselves across California with multiple tours, showcasing an impressive live set and innate cohesion belying their relative youth.
The band have suffered hard times, “No Sleep” was written and recorded while all of the band were living in a van in a parking lot in LA after being scammed out of a shared home on Craigslist. The experience however, brought the band closer together with their combined passion and determination for making music, they overcame the odds, delivering an impressive EP.
Propelling off the video for (‘F*ck Growing Up’), Common Grounds look set for a bright future, with an insatiable energy matched by their steely determination and passion for songwriting.

DECAPITATED have now formally been charged with rape in Spokane County, following their extradition from Los Angeles to Spokane, WA. The rape charges include second degree for Rafal Piotrowski (vocals) and Waclaw Kieltika (guitar), as well as third degree for Mikola LLysejko (drums) and Hubert Wiecek (bass). The band was arrested on September 9th in California on suspicion of kidnapping. The band have issued a new statement below:
“An update – following extradition from California to Washington, the band has now been charged. We’d like to emphasise; the Spokane Police Department has pressed charges as procedural formality, without doing so, they would be forced to release band – this is not a conviction or any indication of guilt or innocence.
Once again, we ask that everyone wait for each party’s case to be presented and await the court’s decision. With that said, whilst cases are being prepared on both sides, some facts are indisputable at this point – that the original officer who took the complaint from the accuser stated, “I do not have probable cause that a rape occurred”, and it’s taken a full 30 days to file charges, which is right up against the point at which the defendants would legally have had to be released.
The band firmly refutes the allegations and are confident that once the facts and evidence have been seen and heard, they will be released and able to return home.
Individuals who were present on the night in question with information about the case are asked to reach out to the defense lawyer, Steve Graham of Spokane, Washington.”

Canadian gritty punk rockers THE FLATLINERS are celebrating their 10-year anniversary of their album The Great Awake with A WILHELM SCREAM, who are celebrating decade since their record Career Suicide.
Still comprised of the four original steadfast members, The Flatliners continue to build on the enduring connection that brought them together 15 years ago. A testament to perseverance and dedication, The Flatliners have logged countless miles on the road and amassed a dedicated legion of fans since the band’s inception. The Flatliners latest release ‘Inviting Light” is out now via Dine Alone Records. The album signifies a new chapter for the group who continue to hold fast to the DIY punk-rock ethos that has been at their core since the beginning.
The Flatliners’ latest album, Inviting Light, is out now on Rise and Dine Alone Records. The band’s frontman Chris Cresswell commented:
“We can’t believe it, but it’s been 10 years since we released our album The Great Awake… All the way back then, we fired off a message to one of our favourite bands – A Wilhelm Scream – on MySpace (yes… MySpace…) asking them to join us for our record release shows. They obliged, and subsequently embarrassed us on stage every night with their incredible level of musicianship and overall presence. An inimitable friendship was born, and one that’s seen us play in over 10 countries together over the last 10 years, making a hell of a lot of memories along the way. On this same weekend of shows in 2007, we were lucky enough to get a glimpse of some early mixes of their then-upcoming album Career Suicide. It was like being a told a secret you couldn’t wait to share with the world. Our minds were blown. We thought nothing would be better than to celebrate the 10th anniversary of both these albums together. So come see it live. Come see A Wilhelm Scream continue to embarrass us all these years later!”

Australian metalcore act POLARIS have released their new single ‘Consume’. Check it out below and watch the music video for the first single, ‘The Remedy. POLARIS’ highly anticipated debut album, The Mortal Coil, will be out November 3 via SharpTone &Resist Records. The Mortal Coil was recorded in POLARIS’ self-made studio in Mollymook, NSW, where they shipped American tandem, Carson Slovak and Grant MacFarland of Atrium Audio to oversee the recording. No strangers to success themselves, the hotly-tipped duo most recently produced, engineered and mixed AUGUST BURNS RED’s Grammy-nominated album, Found In Far Away Places. Those eager to see POLARIS shred live won’t have to wait long, as the quintet will embark on the renowned Never Say Die! tour with label mates EMMURE, DEEZ NUTS, CHELSEA GRIN, KUBLAI KHAN, SWORN IN and LORNA SHORE.
Guitarist Rick Schneider talks about the recording of The Mortal Coil:
“Recording ‘The Mortal Coil’ was unlike any studio experience we’d had before, both in location and environment. A few hours south of Sydney we rented a holiday house, not knowing how well it would suit our needs. We managed to set up two work stations and quickly found ourselves in a focused, yet highly relaxed work environment. While stress would inevitably makes its way into the process, the end result is something we are all very proud of, and I’ll personally always look back on that month fondly.”

Melodic hardcore act LIONHEART has debuted another new single called “Still Bitter Still Cold”, coming from the band’s forthcoming album, Welcome To The West Coast II, due out on November 10th via Fast Break! and BDHW.
Red is the impending new EP from extreme metal supergroup SCOUR. With a pedigree covered in viscera, SCOUR is the brainchild of Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint), John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Derek Engemann (Cattle Decapitation), Chase Fraser (Animosity, Decrepit Birth), and Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Misery Index). Their latest manifestation serves as part two of a three-part EP series. Red will see release on CD, digital, and vinyl formats on November 3rd. As a precursor to its release, today Revolver is offering up “Piles” for public feasting.
Forged in 2015, SCOUR’s punishing mix of black metal, grindcore, and thrash made its debut with the ferocious single “Dispatched.” The band’s debut EP, Grey, was released the following year via Anselmo’s own Housecore label. Just before a crushing performance at Hellfest Open Air, which featured a cover of the Pantera classic “Strength Beyond Strength,” the band recorded their Red EP at Nodferatu’s Lair with Steve Berrigan (Down, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Eyehategod, Haarp, Classhole, etc.) at the helm. The record was once again mixed and mastered by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, Cobalt, Khemmis) at Flatline Audio.
SCOUR will play two rare live shows this December in Fort Worth and Austin. See info below.

The evening is being presented by BrooklynVegan and proceeds will go to the ACLU and the Long Island Food Bank Island Harvest.
Triple Crown is planning some very special vinyl re-issues from its’ catalog to commemorate the label’s two-decade history – visit the label’sweb site for updates on these.
The label was founded in 1997 by Fred Feldman with the first signings 25 Ta Life and The Stubborn All-Stars. Over the next twenty years Triple Crown Records built an impressive and diverse roster of artists – releasing albums by Sorority Noise, Brand New, Caspian, Kevin Devin, Bad Books, O’Brother, The Receiving End of Sirens, Hot Rod Circuit, and The Dear Hunter among others. “There isn’t a Triple Crown sound,” said Feldman when asked about the label’s extensive catalog, “I’ve always felt it goes back to the bands and the songs and that’s why we have released everything from hardcore to singer songwriters.”
2017 saw Triple Crown release critically acclaimed albums from Sorority Noise, Free Throw and Smidley and win the A2IM Libera Award for “Indie Label Of The Year.” In addition, just last month the label partnered with The Orchard who will handle their digital and physical distribution for world.
