SNAPPED ANKLES blends electronics, chaos, synths, and the dance of modern absurdity

2 mins read

We rarely post about strictly electronic music, but after our recent Instagram post about ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, we got hooked on experimental electronics. Enter Snapped Ankles—a raw Kraftwerk pulse fused with post punk and the primal energy of a future tribal dance.

Their upcoming album, Hard Times Furious Dancing, drops on March 28, 2025, and the lead single “Raoul” feels like a techno-ritual with geopolitical storytelling, layered over buzzing synths and eerie howling dogs.

Hard Times Furious Dancing feels like a manifesto for a world where memes collide with fractured narratives and raw human impulse. It’s restless and unapologetic, urging listeners to process absurdity through movement rather than reason. The single “Raoul” sets the tone—unreliable narrators riffing on geopolitics while the music twists, pulsates, and challenges.

This isn’t escapism. It’s a reflection of everything distorted in modern life, electrified and distilled into nine tightly constructed tracks.

Snapped Ankles don’t just tip their hats to electronic pioneers—they shred the rulebook. Tracks like “Pay The Rent” and “摆烂 Bai Lan” (a nod to Chinese slang meaning “let it rot”) underscore their global awareness and refusal to stick to predictable patterns. Each piece carries that raw, almost industrial edge, balanced by relentless energy.

If their recordings feel like chaos made danceable, their live shows take it to the next level. Snapped Ankles kick off their biggest tour yet, with over 30 dates across Europe and the UK, including a highlight night at London’s Fabric on May 15.
