Staten Island Hardcore act VICE release farewell tracks; final show coming soon

1 min read

Staten Island hardcore pack VICE have premiered 2 final songs called “Pressure” and “Lemmings”. Both jamsΒ show the band hadn’t flamed out, so it’s even harder to accept they’re parting their ways. You’ll be able to check them out and see themΒ in their prime at one last gig in NY, alongsideΒ TRAIL OF LIES, MINDFORCE,Β JUKAI,Β EAST BEAST, and MANIAC. The show will take place atΒ 22 Hillside Terrace (Great Kills KOC) on July 8th (RSVP here).

The band announced their break-up in late 2016:

This page doesn’t produce really much of anything. We all got other bands and jobs that have become a huge part of our lives. But to the people who are interested, there will be 2 last songs being released followed by our final show ever. Try to stay in the loop if you wanna. Thanks for the support. NYHC.

… and popped up a couple of months later to share more thoughts on bands and hardcore:

If you have no desire to support bands, start a band, discover new ones, get super excited on certain bands or excited to see them or even try to have a voice in hardcore in any tangible way and your only desire is social fame I truly hope your stay here is short and that you end up alone forever. Get fucked. Stop poisoning shit that people love cause it’s your new flavor of the week and if that IS the case please don’t even try to make decisions on what is/isn’t allowed or “cool” to do amongst our own community. Don’t be afraid to have a voice if you truly love this shit. To the frauds- stay the fuck away from me.

The final tracks were released along with one more statement from VICE:

Forever grateful for the things we’ve gotten to do with this band. Thanks to anyone who’s ever played in this band, Chris and Robots Will Kill, Frequency Deleted Records, and Staten Island Hardcore. RIP Tony.
