Founded in Montreal in 2016 to help out local bands, Thousand Islands Records widened quickly to releases and co-releases reaching well beyond Canada, with melodic punk, skate punk and hardcore punk filling most of the catalogue. Splitting a record across territories with another label is part of how it works.
Calgary skate-punk veterans Belvedere signed for North America in 2021 while Lockjaw Records took Europe and the UK, and the single “Good Grief Retreat” was the first they had released since marking 25 years together in 2020. King Thief’s self-titled debut followed on the label in 2024.
