“Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in an endless loop of indecision, like you’ll die before making a choice?” That’s the starting point for “Indeciso,” the latest single from The Number Twelve Looks Like You — a progressive metalcore band that’s been blending mathcore, grind, and genre experimentation since the early 2000s. Released via Equal Vision Records, the track also finds a second life in Yellow Eyes, a horror film directed by vocalist Jesse Korman, where it joins the previously released “Eyes on the Fireworks” on the soundtrack.
Shot in the oppressive Phoenix heat last July, the “Indeciso” music video — directed and edited by Kyle Laurin — visualizes what Korman describes as “that relentless push and pull within yourself, like being possessed by two opposing forces that both demand control. It’s the chaos of wanting to move forward but not knowing which part of you to follow.” The imagery hones in on the day-to-day fracture of identity, where choosing a direction becomes its own kind of torment.

Revolver notes the band’s continued stylistic evolution: “Korman offers up some vocal musings about feeling older and wiser, while the band’s Mars Volta-ish dynamism — replete with propulsively panicked drums and wah-wah-cruising guitar mania — suggests the band’s getting funkier the further they progress, too.” It’s not a departure so much as an extension of their long-standing experimental core, rooted in calculated chaos and rhythmic complexity.
The band’s current lineup continues to revolve around the longtime creative axis of Jesse Korman and guitarist Alexis Pareja. After a six-year hiatus, their 2019 album Wild Gods marked a return to form, but the momentum was interrupted by the global pandemic. Touring was halted, and with it came time for self-examination. As Korman puts it, they found themselves musically stagnant, questioning their path and relevance. But rather than lean into nostalgia, they chose to start over — aiming for material that reflects growth, not repetition. That direction continues in “Indeciso,” which carries forward the themes of duality and transformation.
Looking ahead, the band has confirmed that new music will arrive in 2025, continuing their process of confronting internal tension through sonic unpredictability. In the meantime, The Number Twelve Looks Like You are on tour across the U.S., headlining select dates and supporting Foxy Shazam, with a stop at Kill Iconic Fest in Santa Ana.
