YUPPICIDE to release their first album in 2 decades! European tour announced! [UPDATE]

2 mins read

Seminal NYHC act, YUPPICIDE, has announced a December 4 release date for its first full-length record in two decades, Revenge Regret Repeat, through Dead City Records. Recorded by NYHC fixture, Glen Lorieo, Revenge Regret Repeat features 11 furious blasts of hardcore punk rock played in Yuppicide’s own distinctive style. Revenge Regret Repeatmarks the first Yuppicide full-length since 1995’s Dead Man Walking on Wreck-Age Records. YUPPICIDE will celebrate the release of Revenge Regret Repeat with a hometown matinee on Sunday, December 13 at Brooklyn’s Grand Victory. The band will be also touring Europe this coming March! See the dates below!

Guitarist Steve Karp commented: “I can’t wait for people to hear this album. Everybody came together and put in 120% to make it a rock-and-roll-killing-machine of a record. Taken in its totality, I think ‘RRR’ really is Yuppicide’s love letter (and not the Dennis Hopper ‘love letter’) to underground music, more specifically to hardcore punk. The music, the lyrics, the art; it all reflects our 30 or so years of being involved with this music – it made us the people we are today and this album shows that. It stands with the rest of our catalog and really shows us as a honed unit, full of anti-establishment venom, biting wit and brutal introspection. It’s an album that doesn’t compromise in its rawness or ferocity. Whether you’ve been following us since 1988 or this is your first time hearing Yuppicide, prepare your ears for a thorough beating.”
Revenge Regret Repeat is a rowdy, angry punk record, and I’m proud that we haven’t mellowed with age,” added vocalist, Jesse Jones. “The lyrics are about facing your demons, past or present, and the one staring back at you in the mirror. I believe that forgiveness is giving up hope for a better past, but sometimes you just can’t let go until the fuckers pay what they owe!”
Yuppicide has teamed up with BrooklynVegan to offer fans an initial taste of the band’s first new music since 2012’s ‘American Oblivion’ EP. Stream the Revenge Regret Repeatalbum teaser online below.

The three core members of Yuppicide: Joe Keefe (bass), Steve Karp (guitar), and Jesse Jones (vocals) met while attending school in Brooklyn, N.Y. In 1988, Yuppicide came together and quickly recorded a nine-song demo tape and began gigging in venues like CBGB’s and Abc-No-Rio, along with basements, backyards, squats, living rooms – anywhere and everywhere there was a chance to play. The band then went on to release three full length records on Wreck-Age: Fear Love (1991), Shinebox (1993) and Dead Man Walking (1995). In 2012, Yuppicide released its first studio recordings in 14 years titled the ‘American Oblivion’ EP. This critically acclaimed EP and Yuppicide’s aggressive music brought the band once again to the forefront of the hardcore punk scene.
