Swedish metal/crust punk outfit MARTYRDÖD – featuring members of SKITSYSTEM, AGRIMONIA, and others – has just unleashed an official video for the track “Handlöst Fallen Ängel,” the track hailing from the band’s List album, which was released through Southern Lord in November. Filmed and edited by Jimmy Johansson, also responsible for MARTYRDÖD‘s recent “Harmagedon” video, the riotous live-filmed “Handlöst Fallen Ängel” has been issued through No Clean Singing, who issued of the album in an early review, “These songs are battle hymns for our own time, which harken back to an earlier age…There is only one MARTYRDÖD, and List may be their crowning achievement.” The respected blog now offers, alongside their exclusive premiere of the video, “The song courses with vibrant energy right from the beginning and never relents. I still think of it as a kind of war anthem, with an air of mythic grandeur that surrounds it, even though it’s a fierce, fiery, blood-pumping romp. The piercing lead guitar melody still makes me think of the skirl of pipes or the wild whirling of a folk fiddle that’s about to spontaneously combust. The whole thing is a hell of a rush.”
