Cave In is an American rock band from Methuen, Massachusetts, that was formed in 1995. The band’s sound is a combination of various genres, including post-hardcore, alternative rock, heavy metal, and space rock. The group has undergone several lineup changes since its inception, but its core members have remained Stephen Brodsky (guitar, vocals), Adam McGrath (guitar, vocals), and JR Conners (drums).
Cave In gained prominence in the early 2000s with the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Jupiter.’ The album showcased the band’s dynamic range, blending heavy riffing with melodic passages and atmospheric soundscapes. They continued to experiment with their sound in subsequent releases, including ‘Antenna’ and ‘Perfect Pitch Black.’
The band went on a brief hiatus in 2006 but returned in 2009 with a new lineup and a new direction. They released their latest album, ‘Final Transmission,’ in 2019, which was a tribute to their late bassist Caleb Scofield, who died in a car accident in 2018. Throughout their career, Cave In has been recognized for their innovation, musicianship, and ability to blend different genres into a cohesive sound that is uniquely their own.
