ENFORCED continue to carve their place in the pantheon of modern thrash with “A Leap Into the Dark”

1 min read

ENFORCED’s latest EP, A Leap Into the Dark, brings a potent mix of grit and aggression that defines the crossover thrash band’s relentless sound.

With six tracks packed full of biting riffs and unforgiving vocals, this Virginia-based group leans hard into the themes and tone that have made them a heavyweight in modern thrash.

The EP includes three new tracks alongside revamped fan favorites, with Lance Koehler at the recording helm, ensuring the same raw edge that permeated their 2023 release, War Remains.

The lead single, “Betting on the End,” is backed by a visceral new video, underscoring the track’s scathing commentary on how “politicians are ‘gambling with our lives,’” as vocalist Knox Colby notes, reflecting how the everyday person ends up caught in the same gamble.

“It’s a spiral about the devaluation of human life in the modern age,” Colby explains.

The track questions if blame can even be directed at those in power when people themselves keep wagering their lives, on any scale, whether through individual choices or under government weight. “The house wins in the end,” Colby adds, framing the stakes at both a personal and societal level.

A Leap Into the Dark* drops just in time for ENFORCED’s European tour, where they’ll join forces with GATECREEPER and 200 STAB WOUNDS, kicking off on October 30 in Dublin.
