Fuji Rock Festival about the Japanese performance:
Fear not! American artists also have a strong showing at Fuji Rock this summer starting with the much-talked-about At The Drive In who’ve reunited and will play at this year’s Coachella Festival. 11 years after being announced to perform at Fuji Rock Festival 2001 and cancelling because the band broke up, we at last get to witness At The Drive In’s masterful performance at Naeba. Long time friend to the festival, Jack White formerly of the White Stripes has chosen Fuji Rock as the venue to unveil his latest solo project, and ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha who has always been very popular in Japan brings with him the gift of a new release after 14 years of silence to Fuji Rock this summer. From the Indie scene, The Shins, Explosions In The Sky and acclaimed new band Howler will be performing. Vindication cometh for Japan’s blues fans. After cancelling due to health reasons last year, Buddy Guy was one of the first artists to declare he will be performing at this year’s Fuji Rock Festival.
