CAPSIZE – “The Angst In My Veins” video

2 mins read

The Angst In My Veins was recorded with producer Jay Maas (Bane, Defeater) and impressively debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard New Artist Chart, No. 27 on the Hard Rock Chart and No. 53 on the Independent Artist Chart. The band’s non-stop touring included US runs with the likes of Silverstein, Senses Fail, Being As An Ocean, Defeater, ‘68, and Counterparts, as well as three separate tours throughout Europe/UK, and their first ever tours in Japan and Australia. Capsize will headline a short run of US dates that kick off at the end of this month, and will be announcing their Spring and Summer plans soon, which will include two major US tours.

Capsize is currently at Glow In The Dark Studios, working on their sophomore full-length with Matt McClellan (The Devil Wears Prada, Being As An Ocean, Better Off). McClellan also recorded the band’s two recently released singles – “You Can’t Come Home The Same” and “Enough For Me” – which are available now at youtube.com/equalvision, iTunes, Spotify, and as an instant download with the band’s newest merch bundles on capsize.merchnow.com.

Capsize’s new album is expected to be released in Summer 2016, and will feature a more prominent post-hardcore sound than on The Angst In My Veins with the incorporation of clean singing, which the band introduced into their sound for the first time on “You Can’t Come Home The Same”. The band is comprised of Daniel Wand (vocals), Andrew Tamayo (drums), Ryan Knowles (guitar), and Nicolas Lopez (guitar).

“For the new album, we’re setting new goals and getting back in touch with influences that made us want to make music in the first place, not just what inspired the band’s creation. Every day we are letting ourselves be more of just that – ourselves, and I think that’s a defining factor of creating longevity in what we’re doing.”

“Ever since The Angst In My Veins came out, it’s been all about getting in front of as many people as we can and putting every bit of energy we have into our performances. We wanted to create a visual on stage for the crowd that represents the angst that defines the record itself and I think we perfected that on our last tour of 2015,” shares Capsize vocalist Daniel Wand. “We luckily had our friend Sam Shapiro out with us on that tour to capture the experience, and we turned it into something more than just a music video. It’s a celebration of our first album’s touring cycle coming to an end, as we enter the studio for a brand new album. Since the release of The Angst In My Veins just over a year ago, we’ve played over 250 shows across the world and this video perfectly represents what we grew into throughout that time period.”

Lyrics:

Have you ever felt like you were invisible? Tell me now if you’ve ever felt miserable.
There’s never been a clear explanation. To live your life opposite to the worlds rotation.
To feel like no one. “No one understands.” To feel like you could die another lonely man.
I am tired of hearing that I can’t. So I’ve come forward with this to show you where I stand.
Have you ever felt hated? Have you ever felt jaded? I can’t walk with all this weighing down on me.
Have you been getting high? Have you been getting wasted? Checking out from reality, just try to breathe.
I don’t see an end to my pain when I still have angst in my veins.
Everything comes crashing down on me, when everyone is looking down on me.
I only ask a single thing, just a moment of your time. I’ve let you show me all that is yours, now let me show you mine.
I just wanted to hear “I miss you” or “I’m happy you made it out”
I just needed to hear “I love you” “I’m proud of what you’re doing now”
I’ve seen the cuts on your arms. I’ve seen the scars on your wrists, and I just want you to know, you are better than this.
They don’t belong. You belong here.
