Introducing: new cathartic post metal act WE ARE AMONG STORMS!

October 5, 2018
1 min read

WE ARE AMONG STORMS have been cooking and brewing using their dark powers in rehearsal rooms and studios since March 2017. Consisting of members of acclaimed Danish acts THE PSYKE PROJECT, HEXIS, and ÉGLISE, the Copenhagen-based quartet embarks on their next musical endeavor and delivers a solid, spacey dose of hardcore with a hint of post-metal. Their debut self-titled EP invokes heaviness and bridges the gap between both genres with the power and immensity of the ocean. Today, we’re giving you the full stream of the record, along with the band’s commentary below!

The four-piece consists of people with major studio and live experience from bands such as extreme metal outfit Hexis (Kenn, bass), the Hardcore insanity of The Psyke Project (Martin, vocals) and the former Chaotic Hardcore locals Église (Martin, vocals – Lukas, guitar – Mathias, drums).

In mixing a blend of dark and heavy parts with lowkey and serene soundscapes the band wishes for the listener to be spellbound and moved – physically as emotionally.

Catch WE ARE AMONG STORMS live on October 19th at Loppen/Christiania in Copenhagen, Denmark!

WE ARE AMONG STORMS cover

Recorded in DEAD RAT STUDIO (Jacob Bredahl) in Aarhus, Denmark in May 2018.

The idea behind the songs on this EP is to adress what we go through as humans and that you should focus on the positive aspects of life in trying to better yourself.

Time and what time means is also a big subject; About getting older and not realising how fast time goes by and in that instance feeling powerless but also about making memories with the people close to you and sharing them as you grow older together, travelling through time…

And then – in the end – being all alone on the last journey which is yours and yours alone.

WE ARE AMONG STORMS!
