EIGHTEEN VISIONS are back with new single “Rot of Humanity”

1 min read

In a burst of energy and intensity, metalcore veterans Eighteen Visions have dropped a blistering new single “Rot of Humanity”. The track starts with a spoken word segment, immediately followed by a relentless and furious metalcore slam that propels listeners into a whirlwind of sound.

Clocking in at under two minutes, the song expertly maneuvers through different tempos and dynamics, slowing down briefly to deliver hammer-smashing riffs. The pounding rhythm and almost chant-like repetitive punches drive home the band’s signature style.

Eighteen Visions, hailing from Orange County, California, has been a prominent force in the metalcore scene since their formation in 1995. Known for their unique blend of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and dynamic songwriting, the band has garnered a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim throughout their career.

Often credited as pioneers of the genre, they were among the first to incorporate clean vocals into their heavy sound, influencing subsequent bands and shaping the development of metalcore. Their unique image, characterized by high-end attire and styled hair, set them apart from the mid-1990s hardcore trends, earning them the label “fashioncore” in a somewhat derogatory manner.

Despite this, their distinctive appearance helped them stand out and make a lasting impression on fans. The band’s impact on the metalcore genre and contemporary bands has been widely acknowledged, with their 2001 release “Until the Ink Runs Out” being ranked at 21 on Loudwire’s list of the 25 best metalcore albums of all time in 2020.

“Rot In Humanity” Lyrics:

“Rot Of Humanity”

Walk amongst the dead
Washed upon the shore to pay our debts
And now will we see paradise?
No!
No purification
For these rotting souls

Save us from this torment
Suffering what we’ve earned
Blistering in the flames
There it goes
What a waste to watch it burn

Save us from this torment
Save us
We’ve all been hiding away in the shadows

Covering our eyes to the negligence
Violence is looming
Salvation will wait
And now we’re swinging away in the gallows
And now we’re swinging away in the gallows
