Iconic hardcore/metal festival Furnace Fest is back after 17 years since its last edition in 2003. Held at Sloss Furnaces is a National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama, Furnace Fest will take place at the original spot on September 18-20th in Birmingham, AL. Furnace Fest was a Christian punk/hardcore/metal concert held annually during August at Sloss Furnaces from 2000 to 2003. It was hosted by local record label Takehold Records. The 2002 Furnace Fest was held on August 1-3 with 80+ bands including Andrew W.K., From Autumn to Ashes, Further Seems Forever, Hatebreed, Norma Jean, Eso-Charis, Pedro the Lion, Stretch Arm Strong, This Day Forward, and ZAO. The 2003 Furnace Fest was held on August 15-17 with 81 artists, including Finch, Taking Back Sunday, Rise Against, Avenged Sevenfold, Minus the Bear, Mae, Armor for Sleep, From First to Last, As I Lay Dying, Copeland, Silverstein, Further Seems Forever, Stretch Arm Strong, Mastodon, Hatebreed, Every Time I Die, Andrew W.K., Norma Jean, and others.
