Over 4 years since their gloomy debut EP that we discussed in our interview HERE, Florence, Italy’s dark post hardcore act ZAMBRA are back with their intriguing debut full length called “Prima Punta” and we have the full stream of the entire thing below!
Inspired by their hometown Sesto Fiorentino, the record further develops ZAMBRA‘s unique style of dark soundscapes blended with multi-style hooks and is set to take their iche into yet-uncharted territories.
Sesto Fiorentino certainly not the most beautiful place in the world but there are incredible stories on every corner, behind every face, these are the stories that touched us. Prima Punta is the name of one of the three peaks of Monte Morello, which is the mountain of Sesto. We all love nature, trekking and climbing so Morello was a perfect symbol of our lives and our passions.
The album was the last record made in Folsom Prison, the band’s baritone guitar player’s studio, which closed right after the album was completed.
We felt at home in there, so we relaxed and took our time, experimenting with sounds which eventually gave birth to the song called “Yanusz” (see further explanation below).

Metano (Italian for methane) is the name of a road where bad guys used to organize clandestine car and motorbike races in the 80s/90s.
Fosco is an old man that lives in our town and he’s considered a pioneer of modern alpinism. Fosco is also an Italian word that means “gloomy”.
Ambra is the nickname of a guy with a particular personality, he became popular in our town because of his great skill to imitate a TV show host (Ambra Angiolini).
Yanusz is the name of a Polish priest with a very dark personality, his church is located on the hills surrounding our town.
Lottarox was the name of a collective who used to organize electronic and techno dance hall.
Rimaggio is the name of the main river of our town.
Oca Bianca: singer’s dad die when he was 9. It’s first time he sings about it.
Sun Chemical is an old factory that closed down some years ago because of its pollution emissions
