Sludgy, groovy hardcore metallers SMOOTH SAILING premiere new track

1 min read

Too metal to be a punk band, and too punk to be a metal band, Seattle’s hard rockin’, groovy hardcore fusionists SMOOTH SAILING have been shredding their sludgy riffs to ear-bending intensity since 2009 and it’s been 7 years since they released their debut full length called ‘XOXO‘. Today, we’re premiering their first new song in a long time called “Stevie Ray Oiye”, a forerunner of their upcoming split with their buddies from sludgy, down tuned rockers INTO THE STORM. The new jam starts with a looped build up and bursts into a thick set of riffs that break open quickly into an uplifting theme and structure that promises a one hell of an adventurous split record. Check it out below and stay tuned for the full stream soon!

INTO THE STORM and SMOOTH SAILING have teamed up to reveal a stunning new split album that will be released this spring. The split consists of two tracks by INTO THE STORM and four tracks by SMOOTH SAILING. The first single. “Murder, Murder” Murder” by INTO THE STORM has already been released via No Clean Singing and can be listened to at this location. Pre-order information and an official release date will be available soon.

SMOOTH SAILING’s tour kick-off show will take place at the Funhouse Seattle on Friday, February 16th and it will be their last Seattle show for a while! GO HERE to see more details on that.

INTO THE STORM commented about the release:

“We are excited to release this split with our pals Smooth Sailing. Over the years we have shared stages, tours, practice spaces and even a member. This split for us is a throwback to times shared lamenting the state of the world, governments and surveillance while throwing back a couple of cold ones under the stars. Take it with you when you are out in the forest or walking along the concrete jungle.”
