Swedish brutal crust infused hardcore punks KNIVAD share a wrecking new single “Ett övergrepp”!

1 min read

Loosely translated from Swedish as “Stabbed in the throat”, make no bones about where KNIVAD are coming from in their hunt to set the world to rights. Initially formed in Gothenburg in 2012 by guitarist Jonas, the earliest iteration of the band was a nameless collective seeking to illustrate man’s destructive habit of ruining life and the lives of those around him. Combining equal parts fast/slow and aggressive/melancholic phrasing, their music is an explosive melee of crust punk, hardcore and metal.

Backed by the release of several DIY cassettes and 7” records, KNIVAD are primed and ready to release their debut album this October with the help of fellow Gothenburg natives, Suicide Records; home to the likes of Black Royal, Ett Dödens Maskineri, Novarupta and many more.

Comments the band: “We’re happy to be a part of Suicide Records! They’re solid people and show nothing but support and respect for our music and the concept behind it. From the very first time we met. They’re a record label from the underground whose sole intention is to release music they like, regardless of genre or trends. They are people Knivad can relate to.”

With Insidans Ärrvävnad, the quartet has produced a dramatic and brutal theatre that’s every bit as dynamic as it is deadly to the senses. Over ten tracks the album concocts depressive, dark and raw atmospheres using many elements of extreme music, all of which help nail their colours to the mast in terms of imagery with lyrics that detail real life events and with it, the dark side of human suffering.

Insidans Ärrvävnad by Knivad will be released 29th October 2021 on Suicide Records.

Knivad are: Jonas – Guitars, Manne – Vocals, Agge – Drums, Fredrik – Bass.
