After playing a bunch of Lille, France’s dark hardcore act BARQUE have joined us here on IDIOTEQ to give you their newest dense, almost exhausting tune called “Path Of The Hierophant”, a proper teaser for their upcoming EP “Coffin Cutters”, to be released via several labels on 12″ vinyl, CD and tape on September 12th. Recorded by Nicolas Tarridec at BBK studio, and mixed/mastered by Role at Die Tonmeisterei, the EP certainly does not harkens back to when the hardcore genre was still wet with afterbirth, but it’s a perfect example of where it has gone in the last couple of years. “Path Of The Hierophant” is a good indication of what the full record will sound like, so I strongly urge you to take a deep dive into this adventurous sonic assault.
“Coffin Cutters” EP will be officially out on September 12th via French label Eastrain Records, IFB (US), Dingleberry records and distribution (Germany), 59SRS (Russia), Rakkerpak Records (Denmark), Mosh Potatoes (Belgiium), Rubaiyat Records (UK), Rip Roaring Shit Storm Records (UK) and Italian labels Icore Produzioni, Cheap Talks, Insonnia Lunare Records and Longrail Records.
The band commented:
“This track deals with what people expect of others, they want people to think alike, to follow the same path. It’s not really about politics it’s more about human behaviours and relationships.”
Catch the band live at the record release show in their hometown Lille on September 10th with VETO and KYREST.
