PEMBE cover

pembe is a screamo/punk quartet based in Istanbul with people from bands such as Ria, Hedonistic Noise, Yersiz, Heyula. The band defines their music as the depressive and optimistic explosion of their shared traumas. Their sound touches different genres with the sudden changes of mood, aggression and tempo.

On their new offering, pembe showcases a wide musical scale from shoegaze to emo-crust. This album, which contains an uninterrupted journey from beginning to end with sometimes aggressive, sometimes very calm, but always melancholic feelings, directly conveys its unique sound and feel, full of ups and downs and genuine sonic catharsis.

To put it in pembe’s own words: “We are all here and we will stay here. We are creators. We all created our home. All pain and happiness are ours and will remain so forever. When we raise our heads or close our eyes, our home will always be there and we will continue to live in it. Disconnected from our bodies or with our bodies.”
