Iodine Recordings began in Boston in 1996 as a small mail-order operation distributing punk and hardcore records. It later became a label closely involved with the New England independent scene through releases, shows, tours and Iodine Fest. The current catalogue places archival reissues beside new underground records.
Piebald bring the historical side through a deluxe reissue of their 1999 album, while The Casket Lottery add a new record. The Saddest Landscape keep the label connected to screamo and post-hardcore.
New Forms made their first release on the label after Iodine reached out to them. There Were Wires return with a new album, their first in over twenty years, and Quiet Fear connect Chicanx hardcore with language, community and backyard-show culture.
