Massa Nera are a screamo band from Linden, New Jersey. Their recent records move between emotional hardcore and a strong DIY political outlook. The current lineup credited on 2025âs âThe Emptiness of All Thingsâ is Aeryn Jade Santillan, Allen NĂșñez, Christopher Rodriguez and Mark Boulanger.
IDIOTEQâs archive reaches back through several distinct phases. A four-way split in 2018 placed them firmly inside the international screamo network. By 2022, âDerramar | Querer | Borrarâ gave us a much deeper look at the influences behind their writing, followed by the split with Quiet Fear and a surprise remix album in 2023.
Their 2025 album âThe Emptiness of All Thingsâ turns directly toward green capitalism and environmental collapse. The bandâs own release notes connect the record to anti-capitalist politics, immigrant solidarity and the DIY community, making those concerns part of the projectâs current identity alongside the music itself.
