Metallic hardcore keeps hardcore’s scene roots and direct physical attack while bringing metal riffing and weight into the centre of the songs. That relationship became especially influential in the 1990s. Earth Crisis’ “Firestorm” became a key reference point for the era’s harder metallic turn, followed by bands including Hatebreed that carried hardcore into heavier metal audiences later in the decade.
Singapore crew Wreckonize pull from 1990s and early-2000s New York hardcore while keeping the production close to home. Northeast England project Gate Hound began with solo demos by Morley, while later recordings used a rotating lineup. Worn Out push the style toward dissonance and darker heavy music.
