1 min read

TURNSTILE have announced theatrical screenings for “TURNSTILE LOVE CONNECTION.” The short film will premiere at BRAIN DEAD STUDIOS in Los Angeles, CA on June 26th and mark the debut of brand-new music from TURNSTILE. The free event will feature continuous showings of the short film from 12:00PM – 5:00PM PT and will be open to the public on a first-come first-serve basis. BRAIN DEAD STUDIOS is an experiential space collaboratively curated by the Brain Dead family and located at 611 N. Fairfax Ave., the site of the historic Silent Movie Theater site in Los Angeles. Additional details on the event will be announced in the coming days.

TURNSTILE recently returned with “MYSTERY,” the first new music from the Baltimore band since the release of their 2018 breakthrough LP, TIME & SPACE.

On “MYSTERY,” TURNSTILE search for beauty and find peace in the unknown as they reject the notion of ‘normal.’ For TURNSTILE, there is no ‘normal,’ only their truth, and the endless possibility of magic when you remain open to the truth of others; singing praise to the infinite mysteries of the universe.

Turnstile screenings
Bringing superhuman energy to the stage, TURNSTILE are scheduled to perform a run of sold-out West Coast shows this summer, which will kick off August 28th at the Garden Amphitheatre in Garden Grove, CA. Later this fall they are set for a series of festival performances, including Dover, Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival (9/23), Louisville, Kentucky’s Louder Than Life (9/24), Indianola, Iowa’s Knotfest (9/25), followed by an appearance at Spain’s Primavera Sound next year on 6/5. Full Tour dates can be found HERE.

Always more appeal than demand, more liberation than limitation, TURNSTILE extended their hand in 2018 with TIME & SPACE. Recorded with producer Will Yip, TIME & SPACE marked Turnstile’s Roadrunner Records debut and saw the band exploding the most outsized tropes of hardcore with tremendous heart. The album earned “Best of 2018” honors from The New Yorker, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, NPR Billboard and more, with GQ naming TIME & SPACE one of “The Best Albums That Shaped the 2010s.” Continuously looking outward, TIME & SPACE presented the sound of a band operating without boundaries, always growing, always in super-motion.

Reminding us that all music is dance music, TURNSTILE linked up with Australian producer Mall Grab in 2020 to release SHARE A VIEW, a collaborative EP of three reimagined TIME & SPACE tracks – “Generator,” “Real Thing,” and “I Don’t Wanna Be Blind.”

Comprised of Brendan Yates (Vocals), Franz Lyons (Bass/Vocals), Brady Ebert (Guitars), Pat McCrory (Guitars), and Daniel Fang (Drums), TURNSTILE’s brand of youth-minded, youth-driven hardcore punk is intent on breaking down barriers, sonically and ideologically.
