Mind Over Matter Records is a vinyl label based in Chicago. Its own account traces it from Michigan through Los Angeles to Chicago and says every release is “touched by hand”. Many of its recent pressings are limited to 200 copies.
Damien Moyal, formerly of As Friends Rust and Shai Hulud, released records as Damien Done through it, from the “Curious Thing” 7″ in 2017 to the second Damien Done album, “Total Power”, in 2023, a mix of post-punk, gothic rock and new wave. In 2014 the label had put out a split 7″ by Our Lady and Estates with Guard Records. In 2025 it released debut records by the Boston band Mission to Sleep and by Memory Entry, the latter together with Iodine Recordings, and “Blue Honey”, the second LP by Brooklyn’s The Twin.
