Spook Records has been active since 2006, releasing hardcore in its many forms, backing straight edge and putting records out almost exclusively on CD. Its founder, Dawid, had been backing bands in Kraków and putting on hardcore shows, some of them with Tomasz of Shing Records, when talk late one night at Piaseczno’s Open Air HC Fest in 2006 set the label in motion. Good Old Days’ “Knock It Off” became the first release in early 2007, and The Last Charge from Hungary became the first band from outside Poland on the label the same year.
In a 2025 interview, Dawid named the promotion of Polish hardcore abroad as the label’s biggest impact, pointing to Japan, where people know its Polish bands. Bydgoszcz band Schizma released the EP “O Nas” through Spook in 2017, their first new music in four years, and Toulouse band Black Knives put out their debut album “The Thirteenth Hour” on the label in June 2014. Spook is now preparing an eight-track deluxe CD of Born From Pain’s “Siege Mentality”, planned for autumn 2026.
