We kick off the roundup with a bang. IDIOTEQ-featured FACED OUT just dropped what might be the nastiest metalcore track of the week. “Saudade” is a 3-minute scorcher featuring Eric from BONEFLOWER, and it burns with everything from screamo chaos to mid-tempo sludge and sharp breakdowns.
Released July 17 via The Coming Strife label, this one’s not pulling any punches.
Eric’s guest spot adds raw melody to the rage, and the whole thing feels like it’s collapsing inward, in the best possible way.
New full-length is coming later this summer. If “Saudade” is the teaser, we’re in for something massive.
THE ACACIA STRAIN have kicked off their next chapter with the release of “A Call Beyond,” the first single from their upcoming thirteenth album You Are Safe From God Here.
The full-length drops October 24 via Rise Records and was produced by Randy LeBoeuf. The new track arrives with a fittingly bleak music video, previewing the band’s continued dive into punishing deathcore layered with apocalyptic overtones.
The 12-track album includes titles like “Swamp Mentality,” “I Don’t Think You Are Going To Make It,” and “Aeonian Wrath.” A U.S. tour with Bodysnatcher, Ingrown, No Cure, and Tribal Gaze starts July 29 and wraps at the New England Sadness & Failure Festival on August 23.
“We had a hard time landing on one song to release first over all the others — it gets more difficult to pick ‘one song’ every time we put out a new record” the band states. “We felt ‘A CALL BEYOND’ was a good introduction to this era of TAS”.
Regarding the accompanying visual, the band continues “We all have about 1,000 ideas for music videos we want to use, and we basically picked this one out of a hat! Devin came up with the idea of a game show, and Mike titled it. We all had a hand in coming up with the different ‘misfortunes,’ and Matt and Eric took the reins on the rest. We are really happy to make a video featuring a bunch of our friends, and realize Matt and Devin’s artistic vision”.
CONCRETE TIES just dropped a new single, This Broken World, out now via Upstate Records. Clocking in at 2:49, the track features a guest spot from SCOTT VOGEL of TERROR and blends the band’s trademark thrash-laced metallic hardcore with an extra jolt of fury.
Leyla Eileen’s vocals snarl across wrecking-ball riffs, pulling no punches.
The track is the title cut from the band’s upcoming album, due later this year. Hailing from Western Massachusetts and formed by members of FULL BLOWN CHAOS and FEAR FOR YOUR LIFE, CONCRETE TIES have been pushing a raw, punishing sound since 2017—and this latest collab with VOGEL only reinforces that intent.
BIOHAZARD have dropped “Fuck The System,” their latest single and a full-throttle return to the band’s roots. It’s the second track released from their long-awaited new album, due later this year via BLKIIBLK, and follows June’s “Forsaken.” The new material marks their first in over 15 years with the original lineup.
The release lands just ahead of the Divided We Fall U.S. tour, running October 3 to November 2 with ONYX, BAYWAY, and SWOLLEN TEETH. The band will also appear at Furnace Fest on October 5 in Birmingham, AL.
Leipzig’s SWOON return with Soft Collapse, a seven-track EP that drops the hammer and then vanishes into fog. Out now via Blood Blast Distribution, the release bends post-hardcore into something unstable and unpredictable—shoegaze swells, ambient detours, and sudden breakdowns that hit like shrapnel.
It’s violent, delicate, and totally unafraid to fracture form—think FLESHWATER, early NOTHING, maybe even glimpses of TOUCHÉ AMORÉ if they got lost in delay pedals. SWOON just made their strongest move yet.
ALKALINE TRIO just dropped a new track, “Oblivion,” and it’s a bleak little ripper, full of Skiba’s usual dread and romantic decay.
Out now via Rise Records, the song leans into that classic Trio vibe — melodic, anxious, a bit theatrical — while layering in some big, sample-heavy drums that definitely scream Travis Barker’s influence.
It hasn’t been that long since Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs, but this one feels sharper, more distilled. Skiba’s voice cuts through lines like “Everyone I know is now dead and gone” with the same bitter clarity he’s always had.
Travis Barker said of the sessions: “Recording with Alkaline Trio was such a treat. Bringing these songs to life from the demos Matt recorded was so exciting. Both Matt and Dan are incredible lyricists, two of my all-time favorites. The studio never feels like work, just a magical place to create. The process was so natural and easy, I could’ve kept going forever. Really proud of these songs me, Matt, Dan, and Atom recorded. Excited for what’s ahead for Alkaline Trio and for fans to hear these special songs we made”.
Trio founder Skiba said of the sessions: “I don’t think I’ve ever had such a great time in the studio. We’d wanted to get into the studio with Atom as soon as he’d joined the band and we finally found the time to do it. The idea to work with Travis came to me after guesting on a project he was producing at his studio. I was blown away by how natural and amazing Travis is in the role of a producer and by the beauty and serenity of his studio. We had initially gone in thinking we would do a cover we’d been playing with, to take the pressure off of our first recording with Atom but ended up with three new songs. I already knew how great Travis is in the studio (from my time with Blink), beyond his great drumming and unique and out-of-the-box songwriting abilities. His vision and talent is the perfect fit for us. I am a drummer at heart so having Atom and Travis working in tandem as drummers and songwriters was absolute heaven for me. Working with two of my favorite drummers was surreal and dreamlike, never mind two of my favorite people in the world. I told Travis that it really feels like he is our fourth member on this”.
Andriano added: “We went into the studio thinking we’d record one new song and maybe a cover as well, ended up tracking THREE new Alkaline Trio originals! Matt’s been on fire lately, between him having so many good ideas and Travis being so easy and cool to work with we could’ve stayed in there forever. It’s always exciting when working with a producer for the first time, but Travis really blew us all away. He had so many cool and thoughtful ideas for all aspects of the tunes, from structure and writing suggestions to mix ideas… it was awesome. I have a feeling we might just do this again!” Willard reflects on his first experience recording with the band he’s been playing with for the better part of the last two years, “For me, recording that week was like being 20 years old again. Going into the studio not knowing exactly what we were going to be doing or working on made it super fun and exciting. Collaborating on all parts of these songs was really fun and inspiring. I feel like we could have just kept going and going the way everything was coming together so readily”.
PORCUPINE dropped a new EP titled Under the Altar viaNew Morality Zine. It’s a direct follow-up to last year’s All is Vapor, continuing both thematically and sonically, with tracks like “Holy Cowards II” and “Close the Doors II” picking up threads from the earlier release.
Where All is Vapor leaned conceptual, Under the Altar hits personal—described as a raw journal entry on love, death, and suffering. The EP blends melodic hypnosis with bursts of chaos and noise, marking one of PORCUPINE’s most intense releases yet.
Available now digitally and as part of a deluxe CD that includes both records. Shirt pre-orders are up too, shipping end of August.
Souvenir, the long-awaited debut full-length from Bay Area’s DROUGHT, is finally here. Tracked to tape by Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden, the album feels less like a first step and more like pages torn from something lived-in, already worn at the edges.
The band—formed in 2022 and known for emotionally volatile sets alongside JEROMES DREAM and VS SELF—pull from the DNA of bands like MEWITHOUTYOU, TITLE FIGHT, and PIANOS BECOME THE TEETH, but build something heavier, stranger, and more vulnerable.
Guest appearances from Pat Flynn (HAVE HEART, FIDDLEHEAD), Eric Butler (MOM JEANS), and Alex Rudenshiold (INFANT ISLAND) add even more dimension, but this is very much DROUGHT’s world: raw, reflective, frayed with contradiction.
Souvenir is out now on Iodine Recordings—stream it, sit with it, let it gnaw at you a bit.
Richmond’s own ENFORCED crash onto The Dogs of Hope compilation with their version of Repulsion’s “Radiation Sickness,” a brief but brutal outburst of sick-fast thrash.
Clocking in at under two minutes, the song paints a grotesque picture of nuclear death: rotting lungs, melting flesh, and hallucinations from exposure-induced madness.
It’s ENFORCED at their rawest, capturing a sense of desperation and decay that mirrors the compilation’s deeper purpose.
“The Dogs of Hope,” out August 8 via Iodine Recordings, is a benefit record supporting Randolph County Animal Shelter, a no-kill facility in rural Alabama that’s kept afloat through volunteer work and private donations. Spearheaded by longtime scene vet Tom Bejgrowicz, the comp features unreleased or exclusive tracks from bands including SNAPCASE, DEADGUY, JEROMES DREAM, ORANGE 9MM, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, and WALTER SCHREIFELS.
South Jersey/Philly post hardcore emo act RAIN STILL FALLS are finally getting the archival treatment they deserve. Everything, out now via Thirty Something Records, compiles the band’s complete recorded output—spanning rare 7-inches, CD tracks, and unreleased cuts from their early ’90s post-hardcore/emo tenure.
Formed around 1992 in Cherry Hill, NJ, RAIN STILL FALLS were a key part of the Watermark Records scene, featuring members Joel T. Jordan, Dan Salerno, Nick Cain, Pat Lavin, Robb Hart, and Sean O’Neal. This release marks the first time much of their material has ever been available on vinyl.
Kentucky metalcore band SURFACED will release their new EP Where Angels Fear to Tread on August 15 via 1126 Records.
Their latest single, “A Petal of Ash,” is out now alongside a video filmed in their Louisville hometown, directed by Errik Easterday (KUBLAI KHAN, ORTHODOX). The track captures the tension of unexpected panic and spiraling anxiety with jagged riffs and suffocating breakdowns.
Formed in 2022 from Louisville’s DIY scene, SURFACED blend deathcore, classic metalcore, and emotional weight into something raw and urgent. Frontman JP Kaine explains the single deals with everyday anxiety and its intrusive chaos: “I deal with anxiety every day, making me scatter-brained and thoughtless.”
Following up their 2023 LP Nothingness Forever, the band will hit the road this fall with FOX LAKE and KAONASHI and appear at Memphis Pest Fest in September.
Out now as a three-track single, ALEXISONFIRE just released a live cut of “Young Cardinals” recorded during their 2022 show in Hamburg, Germany.
Backed by “Born and Raised” and “The Northern,” the release clocks in just over 13 minutes and gives a snapshot of the band’s raw energy onstage.
DEEZ NUTS have unleashed their third single “Miss Me With That” from their upcoming seventh studio album, continuing their aggressive comeback streak. The track, available now on all streaming platforms, follows “ICU” and “Kill This Shit,” and leans even harder into the band’s trademark bluntness and bounce-heavy hardcore delivery.
Produced by Andrew Neufeld of COMEBACK KID, the album will be the band’s first full-length since 2019’s You Got Me F**d Up, and it’s shaping up to be a solid return.
Full release date is yet to be announced, but it’ll drop via Century Media Records.
San Antonio hardcore unit BITTER END’s 2007 LP Climate of Fear is getting a new vinyl pressing, now available for pre-order through Deathwish Inc.
Multiple variants are offered, including a Deathwish-exclusive clear with red & black splatter and a red swirl edition via SFU. Estimated ship date is August 29, 2025.
STAY INSIDE return this fall with Lunger, their first LP since the breakthrough Ferried Away and their debut for Tiny Engines.
The Brooklyn band pushes even further into their blend of emo, indie rock, and off-kilter Americana, swapping formulas for risk. “Oh, Longshoreman,” the latest single, shuffles between jangly momentum and brass-laced breakdowns—catchy, nervous, and completely unhinged in the best way.
There’s still grunge fuzz and mathy turns, but also twang, brass, and broken harmonies that sound more lived-in than styled. Chris Johns leans into the vocal drama without overreaching, bouncing between charm and collapse.
Lunger drops October 3.
For the first time since its original 1999 CD release on Hopeless/Sub City, the classic split between 88 FINGERS LOUIE and KID DYNAMITE is getting a proper vinyl reissue. Dustywax Records is handling the pressing, and Thousand Islands Records is offering an exclusive black and purple variant limited to just 100 copies.
The reissue ships around August 15, 2025. Pre-orders are open now. This is the first time the split will be available on wax—26 years later, it’s back in rotation.
GOOD CHARLOTTE have dropped a new single titled “Stepper,” marking another preview of their upcoming eighth studio album Motel Du Cap, due out August 8 via Atlantic Records. While “Rejects” kicked off the new era last month with high-energy nostalgia, “Stepper” leans further into their pop rock instincts—bright, bouncy, but with just enough punch to remind you this is still GOOD CHARLOTTE.
Produced by Jordan Fish and Zakk Cervini, Motel Du Cap channels the band’s reflections on identity, celebration, and creative rebirth. The album was written after an impromptu set at a wedding in the south of France. “We were just there to celebrate, no pressure, and it reminded us why we started this,” Joel Madden said recently. “It felt natural. We were laughing, writing, reconnecting.” “Stepper” keeps that spirit alive—no heavy concept, just a catchy, clean-cut anthem about moving on and standing tall.
DESCENDENTS have announced an extensive reissue series beginning with their iconic 1982 debut Milo Goes to College, set for release on September 19 in LP, CD, and cassette formats via Org Music. Reclaimed and restored by the band, the reissue kicks off a campaign covering their foundational early catalog originally released on New Alliance and SST Records.
The Milo Goes to College reissue will be available in several variants, including a deluxe Punk Note edition designed by John Yates, inspired by classic Blue Note jazz aesthetics. Variants include black vinyl, “Grey Matter” LP, limited silver vinyl (Punk Note edition), a band-exclusive “Suspended Gold” LP, and more via select indie retailers.
Future reissues include I Don’t Want to Grow Up, Enjoy!, ALL, Bonus Fat, and others—remastered and released under the band’s full control.
Baltimore’s ERODE just dropped their debut full-length Devout via DAZE.
The album hits like concrete—tight, raw, and steeped in negativity. Pulling from 100 DEMONS, MORBID ANGEL, and KICKBACK, the sound is a blackened wreck of stomping riffs and distorted anguish.
Tracked by Matt Redenbo (Magpie Cage), mixed by Andy Nelson (Bricktop), and mastered by Brad Boatright (Audiosiege), the record doesn’t bother softening its edge. It’s all dysfunction, delivered in sharp bursts under two minutes.
ERODE hits the road in August with SINISTER FEELING and EYEZ WIDE SHUT. First show’s the Devout release gig August 1 at Holy Frijoles, Baltimore.
Basque punk band ZIKIN have released Zatitxu, a four-track 7″ that dives deeper into their mix of hardcore, post-punk, and jangly, almost surf-inspired guitars.
The EP is out digitally now, with vinyl pre-orders starting July 25 through Mendeku Diskak. Shipping begins August 20.
This release leans harder into punk aggression while keeping the moody tones and melodic tension of their earlier material. Mendeku calls it their best yet.
ZIKIN will support the release with shows across France and the Basque Country, including stops in Toulouse, Bordeaux, and their hometown Lekeitio.
Australia’s metallers NICOLAS CAGE FIGHTER are back with “Garden Of The Grieving Mother,” a punishing new track off their upcoming record I Watched You Burn, out September 12 via Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution.
According to vocalist Nick Moriarty, it follows the album’s concept of decay, punishment, and collapse. “Mother nature comes back to take what’s hers,” he says. The protagonist, infected by a cursed tree, rots in a mental prison while the world burns around him. No hope, no redemption.
The album was mixed and mastered by Christian Donaldson (SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY). Artwork by Giannis Nakos (EMPEROR, ABORTED), visuals by Taigan Harris.
CELL’s debut album I Will Not Be Found Here After just dropped today via Unbeaten Records—10 tracks of neck-wrecking deathcore with some melodic hooks and cinematic breakdowns. The final title track is a highlight, blending eerie riffs with crushing slams, and “Lie Alone for the Spirits to Mold” offers a rare melancholic breather before the violence ramps up again.
Produced for maximum impact, the album mixes razor-sharp riffs, guttural roars, mid-range howls and even guest vocals from Bodysnatcher—especially on “Threading the Existence.”
THE ARMED have unveiled “Sharp Teeth,” the latest track from their upcoming album The Future Is Here and Everything Needs to Be Destroyed, set for release August 1 via Sargent House.
The video, directed by Aaron Jones and Tony Wolski, features a disorienting, cinematic sequence that leans into the band’s hyperreal aesthetic.
The Armed continue to bend the limits of post-hardcore and noise-pop, refusing to be boxed into any single mode. This new single builds on the maximalist weight of their past work, while pushing further into cinematic territory.
Industrial gothy nu metal rockers VLAD IN TEARS just put out a new one called “Your Trace” — and this time they’ve got John Connor from DOG EAT DOG jumping in.
The track lands ahead of their upcoming album Hide Inside, out August 1st on Metalville Records.
GRIM REALITY just dropped You’re Done, a one-minute burner of a track via Life Lair Regret Records.
It’s sharp, nasty, and straight to the throat—exactly what you’d expect from one of Melbourne’s most no-bullshit hardcore acts. Recorded and mixed by Glen Franklin, the single blasts out with their trademark bite and clenched-teeth charisma.
Punk rockers THE IRON ROSES have returned with “Class War Cheer Squad,” the first single from their upcoming EP AGITPOP, out September 11.
The politically charged track marks the band’s most direct message yet—built on sharp punk rhythms and a shouted refrain: “1, 2, 3, 4 / I declare a class war.” Proceeds from the limited-run T-shirt tied to the single will go to Border Kindness.
Written in early 2025 during a period of political upheaval, the EP reflects both anger and urgency. Vocalists Nat Gray and Becky Fontaine describe the writing process as intense and reactive—songs shaped by grief, frustration, and a need to respond to escalating attacks on human rights. “We needed to release these songs now,” says Fontaine. “They’re protest songs, but they’re also reminders to keep going, even when it hurts.”
THE IRON ROSES are currently on tour in Europe, with North American dates supporting BAD COP BAD COP kicking off in late September.
Following their self-titled 2023 debut, SPIRITUAL CRAMP are back with Rude, a full-length set to drop October 24.
The new album reflects the band’s dual roots—born in San Francisco, reshaped in Los Angeles—and channels vocalist Michael Bingham’s frustration with performative behavior and ego. “When you focus on yourself and the people around you, you can keep your side of the street clean,” he explains. “And when I see the opposite of that, I get kind of offended, which is what a lot of these songs are about.”
They’re kicking things off with lead single “At My Funeral,” a swaggering two-and-a-half-minute cut that blends their signature punk-dub hybrid with bitter smirks and bright, snappy guitars. It’s SPIRITUAL CRAMP doing what they do best—dancing through the chaos with a clenched jaw and a half-grin.
Gold Coast metallic hardcore band DEFIANT GROUND are back with Have Hope, their new release dropping August 1 via Set The Fire Records. Two tracks are already streaming—“Part 2 (Have Hope)” and “Save Yourself”—and both hit hard with a raw, grinding edge.
Recorded at Core Studios and mastered at The Blasting Room, the record promises heavy riffs, shouted affirmations, and that grimy DIY vibe rooted deep in the Aussie hardcore underground.
DOC BURNER just released his debut album Unobedient, a melodic and punchy blend of garage punk and power pop.
Behind the project is Paco Fernandez, a Spanish musician bouncing between Madrid and Los Angeles, who spent the last few years recording and playing across multiple continents.
The 10-track LP dropped on May 22 and was produced in Cape Town with Reinhard Van Biljon. Built around rough hooks, worn-down vocals, and DIY, Unobedient captures a livewire energy and a commitment to no-frills rock’n’roll that will make you dance.
Emotive indie punk rockers WINONA FIGHTER are releasing a deluxe edition of their debut album My Apologies To The Chef on September 5 via Rise Records. The expanded version features 31 tracks, including acoustic versions of the full record, plus covers of “Blister In The Sun” and “Sabotage.”
The band also dropped a new standalone single, “(Don’t Get) CLOSE,” a track that didn’t make the original record but finally found space here. Vocalist Coco Kinnon dedicates the song to survivors of abuse and those who support them.
The band just wrapped a UK tour and are now back in the U.S. for more headline dates, including sold-out shows in NYC and Chicago.
Manchester’s emo outfit THE MAPLE STATE have released a brand new single, “Zero Days Since Last Incident,” their first new music in years.
The track, written in Denmark by frontman Greg Counsell and his brother Christian, blends the rhythmic DNA of bands like BRAID and HEY MERCEDES with raw, autobiographical lyrics reflecting a period of personal crisis.
The single arrives just ahead of two special shows celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut At Least Until We’ve Settled In, which will see the original lineup perform in Manchester (July 18) and London (July 19). A new album is also in the works and due later this year.
Originally formed in the early 2000s, THE MAPLE STATE became a cult fixture in the UK emo and indie scenes, earning praise from peers and press alike. “Zero Days Since Last Incident” is their first release since 2018’s The Things I Heard at the Party, and marks a full-circle return to their earliest songwriting energy—this time older, clearer, and more connected than ever.
Ska punk rockers THE PLANET SMASHERS are back with a new single “Meet Me On The Dancefloor,” previewing their upcoming album On the Dancefloor, out August 22 via Stomp Records. The Montreal ska-punk veterans deliver an upbeat, horn-laced track that blends two-tone swagger with cheeky hooks and an irresistible groove, staying true to the band’s signature energy.
The new record will feature 13 tracks, including collaborations with genre legends Neville Staple (THE SPECIALS), Charley Bembridge (THE SELECTER), and Sara Johnston (BRAN VAN 3000). Vocalist Matt Collyer calls it “the funnest of our 10 albums to record,” and the band’s live-ready energy is clearly front and center.
FIT FOR A KING just dropped the video for “Witness the End,” featuring CHRIS MOTIONLESS. The track is part of their upcoming album Lonely God, out August 1 via Solid State. Inspired by Midnight Mass, the song blends blunt force with apocalyptic vibes and twisted theology.
Produced by Daniel Braunstein (SPIRITBOX), Lonely God promises a mix of metalcore, deathcore, and alt hooks. The band hits the road this fall with MAKE THEM SUFFER, SPITE, and 156/SILENCE, kicking off October 30 in Phoenix and wrapping December 7 in Dallas.
Out via Agonia Records, A Void Within Existence marks ABIGAIL WILLIAMS’ most expansive and emotionally devastating work to date.
Streaming now in full, the record plunges deeper into the band’s signature blend of cinematic black metal, with frontman Ken Sorceron pushing beyond the limits of Walk Beyond the Dark (2019) into something rawer, colder, and more vulnerable.
Produced by Sorceron and mixed by Dave Otero (Aborted, Akhlys), the album features Mike Heller (Fear Factory) on drums and explores themes of loss, disintegration, and existential dread.
With artwork by Eliran Kantor, A Void Within Existence is not just another black metal album—it’s a desolate, scorched-earth statement from a band 20 years into its evolution.
Cleveland duo KNOWSO are back with Hypnotic Smack, a dense, twitchy new album due August 1 on Sorry State Records. Led by Nathan Ward (CRUELSTER, PERVERTS AGAIN, THE CARP) and Jayson Gerycz (CLOUD NOTHINGS), the band returns with 11 tracks of jagged, synth-soaked punk that balances body-jolting rhythm with deadpan dread.
The lead single “You Climb the Sphinx” sets the tone—tight, robotic percussion under Ward’s warped declarations. The album pulls from the lineage of DEVO and THE FALL, pairing cracked social commentary with precision-tight grooves. Tracks like “Panopticon” and “Club Music Is the Soundtrack” push into darker, danceable territory, while lyrics reflect the absurdity of everyday doomscrolling and capitalist fatigue.
Hypnotic Smack is now up for pre-order on vinyl and digital. It’s a record that doesn’t just shout at the void—it contorts itself into new shapes, daring you to move along.
