Prosthetic Records was founded in 1998 and built its identity around independent heavy music. The label’s own history places metal, hardcore and experimental music at the centre, with earlier releases connected to bands including Lamb of God, Animals as Leaders and Skeletonwitch. Prosthetic now operates as a division of MNRK Music Group while continuing to release new heavy and experimental work.
IDIOTEQ’s archive shows a label whose current reach is much wider than one metal subgenre. Dreamwell bring screamo and post-hardcore into its orbit, while .gif from god arrive from chaotic hardcore and mathcore. Italian band Stormo add another European hardcore route.
The catalogue also crosses modern metalcore through EYES, cybergrind and electronic extremity through Thotcrime, and darker screamo through earlier Dreamwell coverage.
